Abstract:
New trends of communication theory coupled with the rise of new Internet techniques, concepts and applications, such as Web Blogs, might bring new effects and implications that must be taken into consideration regardless of number of Internet users in a developing country or technical difficulties facing it.
In Saudi Arabia, a country where most educational institutions are state-owned, the Internet is offering an unprecedented freedom and platform for an increasingly research and education motivation. It is the intention of this study to know the effect of the sky-rocketing blogs as an information source for educators working in the general education programs in Saudi Arabia.
The main question of this research would be; how does the blogging phenomenon, affect Saudi educators in their programs? How does it help them understand and develop their education curriculums? Precisely, what is the impact of blogging on educators work? It is hoped that presenting those questions of the research as such will assist in giving the web 2.0 applications more attention in the general education level and notice the possible effect of such blogs on changing educational system especially in developing countries and Saudi Arabia in particular.
