Abstract:
The tremendous development in Internet services is changing the way people work, learn, and interact. These changes are reflected in the way educational institutions function in terms of administrative services, educational activities, and cooperation with other institutions. In particular, over the last decade, the widespread use of mobile devices has opened the door for new educational opportunities. During this time, educational institutions have recognized the need to take full advantage of the remarkable capabilities offered by these devices, which allow for interactive, cooperative, and engaging learning environments. Also, cloud computing offers an Internet-based supercomputing model that provides secure, rapid, and convenient data and networking services. This paper summarizes mobile learning models and cloud computing features. Then, it presents a methodology for the application of the cloud computing model to promote the development of mobile learning in a manner that is cost effective for institutions of higher education.
