Abstract:
This study addresses the connections among curricular components that shape learning outcomes in any course of study. Connections, referred to here also as connectionism, present in relationships among curricular components- learning objectives, course requirements, and student achievement- are identified via analysis and assessment. The relationships of interest here are among learning objectives, course requirements, and student achievement. Discussions are based on selected findings on learning outcomes and their relationships with curricular components. Conclusions address the importance of learning outcomes; recommendations concern use of the analysis and assessment method implemented in this study.
