Abstract:
Introduction to Research:
Academic life in universities includes many educational and recreational activities. One of these activities is event management, which is necessary for organizing the reception - registration for new students’ center. These activities require the effort of the management and the design teams, to ensure their success in order to show the status of the university. The organization of these university events requires an understanding of the nature of work for each event. It consists of collecting all the information and details, technical and logistical equipment necessary for the successful organization of these events. Some universities call for help from specialized companies to organize and design their events, which burdens the budget of universities and many of these cases do not succeed due to lack of understanding of the nature of the academic life. Other universities use the entities within to organize and manage those events, the Interior Design Department of the universities exist as one of its specialized programs capable of coordinating and managing such events.

Research Problem:
The problem of the research is to show the role of the interior design program as one of the programs in Ajman University that can meet and succeed in organizing and designing events for the university. It can provide technical support and participate in the service of the university’s academic life. This project could open wider fields for the program graduates in the market. Most programs of interior design within universities do not have sufficient awareness of the importance of specializing in the management and design of events and university activities. Research shows the role and importance of the program of interior design to provide technical assistance from the skills and specialized competencies of students and faculty members.

Research Goal:
The aim of the research is to establish regulations and foundations within the university’s internal environment that: aim to utilize the expertise of the educational staff for all academic programs and disciplines, to provide assistance, consultations, and technical support to all the university's activities and events that create an ideal academic environment. Environments that help improve the educational process and help train the students to work as a team and motivate them to participate in the spirit of teamwork. The research shall focus on the role of the interior design program as an application model of how to benefit from the expertise and competencies of its staff members to help in the design and organization of events and student activities at the university.

Research Methodology:
The research point emphasizes the role of the interior design department in organizing; designing and developing the university events to contribute to creating an academic environment that helps improve the educational process. The applied methodology is to take one of the university events, repeated annually, (the organization of the reception of new students of Ajman University 2018). The research will review the steps and stages of design and implementation of the event in order to reach the best design solutions that fit the university budget and show the status of the university.
