Abstract:
E-book also known as e-book, eco-book or digital book is an electronic or digital version of a book or an article published on the World Wide Web or other electronic formats. Could be E-book become a tool for a technological conversion within the classroom? Nowadays this innovative tool appears to be devaluated among certain sectors of education. The question in this paper is: can the new technology / web 2.0 tools such as E-book, enhance the teaching-learning process among students?

The main advantages of using E-book are: lower prices, environmental and economical benefits. Electronic publications are more economic as there is no need for intermediary or the cost of paper copies. Therefore students could have access to a great amount of publications in a comfortable, fast and economic already available format through the web. Its usage contributes to environmental quality as it avoids the excessive use of paper, ink, etc.., Not only that it also promotes environmental stewardship and energy saving. This modern book format facilitates many computer applications such as word searches, expanded details, or the incorporation of multimedia resources, allowing mobility at all times. Despite the numerous benefits this resource has some disadvantages such as its high price, not accessible to all budgets and lack of respect for copyright, at times.

The New Technologies of Information and Communication Technologies are revolutionizing our lives and therefore education. The concern for introducing innovative tools and resources in the teaching-learning process has been studied in recent times, but what do our students know about this tool?

This project focuses on the knowledge and abilities in the classroom of the E-book within the university, specifically in the Faculty of Education within the University of Huelva. The sample comprised 100 students of different educational bachelors, degrees and diplomas. The results revolve around the degree of knowledge, usefulness and potential applications within the university.

In recent years, concern about the computer as a resource to introduce IT in the classroom, has parked away the use of other alternative tools and resources to it. In this paper and through this work we present to the students E-book as an alternative and enhancing educational method. It is also a useful and productive pathway facilitating the teaching-learning process.
