Abstract:
This experimental study aimed to determine the impact of the use of multimedia on the academic achievement of students in primary courses at the school of Education at King Saud University. A total of 40 female students participated in the study. One group of 20 students studied the computer and its uses in education course, in a multimedia learning environment, while the other group of 20 students studied in the traditional manner using the method of presentation lecture and debate.
The students’ learning styles were identified using a questionnaire before the experiment began and they were also given a pre-test on algebraic expression. Post-test was given at the end of the study. The study was administered in three hour sessions for one semester. For the first month of the study, both groups of subjects studied in the traditional manner using the method of presentation. The results of the study highlighted some importance on incorporating needs of students with different learning styles in the development of multimedia teaching material
