Abstract:
The use of concept maps has long been a recommended tool for giving students an overview of the content of study materials. For some years now, several works have investigated the possibility of enriching digital maps with multimedia content and hyperlinks to the web resources. This work shows the initial results of a research project carried out with first-year master's students in manufacturing-related subjects. Its main objective is to evaluate the possibility of using this tool as a “road map” to access online content that is currently in Moodle in a linear way. Results reaffirm that concept mapping is an attractive tool for students and that it helps them to gain an overview of the subject. Despite these advantages, it has been observed that very few students use it during their study or as their main tool to access online content. This work also shows the effect that may have participating in the construction of the maps or not. Keywords:
