Abstract:
The subject “Genetics and Plant Breeding” is taught in the third year of the Degree in Agrifood and Agroenvironmental Engineering in the University Miguel Hernández. Some Kahoot! learning games have been proposed to the students during the school year 2017-2018 in order to make easier their study, avoid confusion and help to fix knowledge.
There are some subjects of the course that often generate misunderstanding when the student find all the lessons together preparing for the final exam. The tests, that could even be anonymously answered, offered the chance to face questions that must be clear. Each of this tests was always carried out the next day after finishing the corresponding lesson and before starting the next one, so they can review the whole lesson. Short test questions through an attractive and easy-to-use tool as Kahoot!, was the best way to bring students to study each lesson by the time it is taught. It was made five tests, enough to observe the response of students. Almost all the students present in the class took part in the Kahoot!, they only needed something so usual and so used as their own mobiles. This kind of activities between the exam and the game, are gladly accepted specially between young people.
Although participate in the Kahoot! test doesn’t count towards the final mark, the students can check the level of difficulty they are able to answer before doing their exam and it is good at clear up some key points of the subject. Keywords:
