Abstract:
Counseling Center at the University of Dammam is considered as a rhythm officer of the academic process in the university; through the oversight of the student’s achievement index, and activate methods of therapeutic intervention for low-achievers, and preventive method for normal students, and developmental method for outstanding students. In Addition to establishing counseling units in all university faculties, staffed by specialize licensed counselors, and supervised by supervisors using latest methods of supervision. This Paper aimed to review the experience of university counseling center at the university of Dammam, that include the latest and most important real experiences and solutions, and its experience of the partnership with the International Association of counseling services standards (IACS). Counseling Center works through functional units, as: unit of individual therapy, unit of group counseling, unit of biofeedback treatment, unit of tests and measurements, and unit of community services, all of them are integrated of structure and Cohered in function. Proceeding from the center belief in value of quality, and from the Center’s mission (discovery of the energies and direct them toward the goals).
