Abstract:

I have been contemporary to teaching the subject of Physical Education ever since its inception at Jubail Industrial College. Since then, the subject has undergone fundamental changes in its method and value as an educational subject. The questions Raised by the Paper focus on the most important changes that have occurred on the curricula of physical education since the inception of Jubail Industrial College , and the reasons for those changes. However , the study most important reasons of the changes that occurred has been the lack of a clear philosophy and a theoretical framework for a Physical Education curriculum and syllabus. This has lead to a misunderstanding of the vital role that it plays. The subject has been viewed as a complementary one; not accorded the importance it deserves from the higher administration as compared to the other academic subjects. This has caused an indifference of looking into tools for improvements. Finally , the study recommend re-instating the old name of Physical Education, since this involves restating the value of the subject educationally.
