Abstract:

This study aimed to explore Artificial Intelligence and its ability to reshape teaching practices between opportunities and challenges, as the study adopted the quantitative method, and interviews were conducted with 30 teachers from five schools in Jordan who were selected by the random method. The interview consisted of specific closed questions that included 3 main category for each of the variables of the study, where the variable of opportunities included: (free tools, data analysis, time saving) and the challenges variable included: (lack of training, lack of privacy, infrastructure). The results showed that 24 teachers (80%) believe that the existence of free AI applications that support the creation of educational content is a great opportunity to improve the educational process, and only 9 of them (30%) indicated that they use AI to analyze student performance data, while 27 (86%) of them confirmed their opinion that this technology contributes to saving time and effort, allowing them to focus more on the educational process.

The results also showed that 21 teachers (70%) suffer from a lack of adequate training on the use of AI tools, which is one of the main challenges, which negatively affects their ability to integrate these technologies effectively in the classroom. Privacy and bias issues raise concerns related to how student data is used, as 19 teachers (63%) expressed concerns related to the protection and privacy of student data, and 10 teachers (33.3%) cited a lack of technological infrastructure as one of the barriers to the use of these technologies.

The study recommends that education institutions provide comprehensive training programs and workshops for teachers and students on how to use AI in education effectively, how to protect student data, and how to improve the technological infrastructure in schools.
