TEACHING TECHNIQUES AND ITS EFFECTS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS AT UAEU HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES COLLEGE CASE STUDY

Abstract:
This study divided into two dimensions interlinked. The first dimension is theoretical dimension, which discuss important several subjects such as education problems/ challenges in the GCC countries, and the relationship between communication and education.

The second dimension is a practical dimension that deals with education techniques and its effects on the educational process.

The researcher selected Faculty of Humanities and social sciences to apply the study because it the oldest college in comparison with the others. This college is currently holding a new educational vision based almost entirely on electronic techniques and an educational philosophy founded self-learning, uniqueness of education and global education.
This study examines the behavior of instructors at the college towards modern teaching techniques, and measuring its effects, results and benefits on the educational process, students and instructors.

The researcher has chosen this theme for several reasons such as its own importance, the educational problems and challenges at GCC countries, the University's new vision, and finally because of questions about the educational process in the world, which have rapidly grown after the events of 11 September.

The study aims at providing scientific and objective educational vision for the policy makers at United Arab emirates University to help them at the future planning of University education techniques.

This study is a descriptive study. It is seeking to identify the use of teaching techniques among faculty members and their views about its implications on them, students and the educational process as a whole. Moreover, the study is seeking the development of educational techniques at the future.

The researcher depends on survey method to collect information about descriptions of this phenomenon in order to use data to explain the situation and help the policy makers to improve the educational process at the future. In the framework of this approach, the researcher selected (186) of Emirati and Arab faculty members at Humanities and Social Sciences as a research community. we excluded the foreigners for the following reasons: newly working at UAEU , already using the communication technology at their universities ( USA , CNADA, UK.. ) ,and in order not to affect the findings of the study .

This study seeking to answer several research questions about the types of educational communications means and educational technologies used in college education, and its diversity.
The communicative tools and educational technology influence the educational process in General and on the students and instructors in particular.
Willingness of faculty members to face changes and requirements of the UAEU new vision, in dealing with educational process in its fundamental dimensions, student, instructors and educational communications means.

We will depend on the questionnaire to collect data and information and also to analyze the results.

In conclusion the researcher will provide the decision makers with several recommendations to improve and maximize the positive impacts of teaching techniques on educational process.
