Abstract:
The article aims to reveal the socio-educational prerequisites of the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market in the context of community based services. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities highlights the importance of community-based support. In the context of community based services, people with various needs have a possibility to learn new abilities and skills that enable them to get involved and participate independently in the labour market.

The qualitative research was conducted to reveal the social and educational prerequisites for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market. 19 specialists providing social services in Lithuania were interviewed. The article presents a small part of the results of the research, which allowed us to identify the social and educational prerequisites for inclusion in the labour market. Qualitative content analysis method was applied for the data analysis.

The external and internal factors related to both, the possibilities of the individual's own involvement, the learning of new skills and abilities, and the reduction of external and internal barriers, were identified and discussed in this study.
