Abstract:
The processes of globalization and the interaction of different cultures are becoming inevitable in nowadays. The socio-cultural contexts of different nations are becoming increasingly diffuse, merging. Emigrant families arriving in a foreign country often become vulnerable due to different economic, social and cultural changes, possibly different characteristics, traditions and customs of people from other cultures. Emigrants are not always ready for such changes, they often lack of comprehensive cultural and social educational assistance in order to make integration processes smoother.

The researchers analyse the experiences of individuals and families in a situation of emigration in the context of globalization from various aspects: the peculiarities of social assistance policy in the EU, labour market, health, culture, education and other areas. They indicate that children of emigrant families face many social and psychological difficulties when they find themselves in a new social, cultural, educational situation for which they have not been prepared in advance. The social educational difficulties experienced by emigrant families and children, as well as the opportunities for the development of such services in the multicultural space of the EU countries are analysed in this article. In order to reconstruct the subjective experiences of emigrants (N = 12), a qualitative interpretive epistemology of data collection, semi-structured interviews and interpretive thematic analysis were chosen.

Reconstructing the multiple context of families in an emigration situation has revealed not only the individual but also the social nature of the difficulties experienced. A positive decision may depend, on the one hand, on personality’s motivation and activity, on the other hand, on the development of “emigrant-friendly” social policy, social educational infrastructure, and a package of services for emigrants in that country.
