Abstract:
Over the past few decades, many companies in the health care sector are getting acquainted with the latest technologies and services available in the medical field all around the world. The cumbersome healthcare systems are rapidly transforming into user friendly E-hospital due to globalization and faster modes of communication. This paper presents a case study of state of existing manual medical services and potentials of E-hospital or Telemedicine services in healthcare sector of Pakistan. Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies are used for data gathering and analysis, such as, questionnaires and interviews from doctors and patients. Data has been gathered from different sources including hospitals, research institutes and NGOs etc. This paper studies the relative satisfaction level of both the doctors and the patients who are becoming part of the new E-health environment. It also suggests future guidelines, research and development required for the smooth functioning of doctors, paramedical staff, patients, medical related firms, healthcare software development professionals and planners and researchers of medical colleges & universities.
