Abstract:
This paper provides a snapshot of the unique experience of Korea in the use of Information and Communication Technology in the field of education. It offers an overview of the process of the educational development of ICT in Korea. It also investigates the factors and key elements of ICT which have influenced education. The paper furthermore explores the current and potential impact of ICT on education throughout several examples that demonstrate how far this country becomes a role model for other developing countries to pattern themselves after. The present paper aims to provide a bird's-eye view of the characteristic features of ICT implementation in Korean education. In this context, the paper examines primary issues which the next questions tend to address; How did Korea achieve this global contribution in ICT education in a short period of time? What are the major key elements of ICT Korea implemented in its education? What are the contributions Korea has achieved to bridge the global digital gap today? Does Korean ICT education provide any lessons to other developing countries?
In this context, this research aims to promote the utilization of ICT in Saudi national education as it concludes with a brief account of the lessons learned from the Korean ICT experience.
