Abstract:
Nowadays, the learning process is supported by different ICT tools which provide more flexible methods of delivery of learning content and students’ evaluation. The learning management systems (LMS) are used to integrate a wide range of pedagogical and course administration tools. They allow instructors and students to share course materials, make class announcements, submit and return course assignments, and communicate with each other online.

Key component of the system is the course, which can be organized in different formats and can include different activities and resources. Students are being enrolled to a specific course. After a successful course delivery, there exists well-defined assessment methods, which give a lot of opportunities. One of the faced challenges is to apply different learning analytics methods in order to take decisions and conclusions for course content of one side and students results and motivation from the other. For that purpose, many personal information is stored and processed.
Moodle process different types of data, which is grouped in two major locations: database and log-files. The Moodle database has more than 200 tables. Only eleven of them contain personal information.
The main goal of the paper is to propose a method for managing (capture, store and maintain) the personal information, which Moodle collects, using different activities and in the same time to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
