Abstract:
Women's studies found that females’ percent at the highest levels of national and international decision-making has not really changed significantly for long time. Inequality between women and men in almost all positions of decision- making still persists. U.A.E women recently had the right to be a member of U.A.E parliament. This study aims to investigate the United Arab Emirates' public opinion towards women political participation in general and how U.A.E women themselves look to the women representation in parliament. Do U.A.E women think that women parliamentarians will impact effectively on women issues at U.A.E society? The study also aims to investigate the role of U.A.E. women parliamentarians and the difficulties that these women face in the parliament. It also aims to investigate the role of UAE media in introducing parliamentarian women to the UAE society as media considered an important medium to convey opinions and express society issues in general.

This study has main questions as following:
1- What was the opinion of UAE elite people towards UAE women political participation?
2- How public opinion evaluate UAE women political participation?
3- What was the role of the Mass Media in creating public opinion toward UAE women political participation?

This study is important because of: first, that women political participation is new phenomenon at UAE society. Second, this study will investigate the UAE public opinion towards UAE women political participation in order to analyze and evaluate it.
This is a descriptive study using social survey method in order to understand the phenomenon. It also belongs to public opinion survey which concerns the social issues. Three different questionnaires have been designed to help researchers conduct the study as following: Public's survey, female parliamentarians’ survey and elites' survey (educated people such as UAE university faculty).
