Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to present an empirical model for assessment of quality in educational institutions. This paper is an empirical study based on secondary information and a case study. The literature review is based on different quality management and business excellence models and relevant literature of quality in education. Using the core elements of the reviewed literature, a preliminary model for quality assessment in the educational institution is developed. Using a case study of an excellent educational institution, a generic model for assessing quality in education is proposed. The key elements for quality in education are included in the generic model. Those elements allow the educational institutions to focus their efforts on activities that create value and satisfaction for the educational communities. This empirical model is based on literature review and a case study which implies that this model can be enriched and adapted according to the particularities of each educational institution. This generic model can be used directly to the assessment of the quality in educational institutions. This paper attempts to develop a generic model that contributes to the literature about quality in educational institutions.
