Abstract:
This experience is embedded in the Life Long Learning Transversalis Project (LLL-T) within the framework of the Interreg Program POCTEFA 2014-2020 (Territorial Cooperation Program Spain - France - Andorra). Transversalis includes a set of 9 partners constituting a cross-border network whose objective is to harmonize and reinforce the lifelong learning practices to return the challenges of each particular region.
On this framework, the UdG Team has been working on defining a procedure to facilitate the recognition and assessment of competences at the Tourism Master Degree programs imparted at the partners' universities and also to define which are the required competences to apply for a cross border job (Palma et al., 2020)
On the present paper we will show the application test of this procedure at undergraduate level in one specific field of knowledge, the agri-food degree programs of the partners universities. Work on the undergraduate level has an added value for our project, oriented to the dual training and labour market access. The competences comparison can be a useful tool to enhance mobility across transborder companies. We also have chosen agri-food degree programs for two more specific reasons: The first one, the impact of the agri-food activities on the Pyrenees transborder region, as several previous project show, and secondly, to analyse how to improve and how to make comparable the training programs and the transborder agri-food competences that students have to achieve.
This procedure has been shared and approved by all the TRANSVERSALIS partners and it also can be useful for future projects with similar goals. It includes the analysis and discussion about the meaning of cross border competences in the field of agri-food among TRANSVERSALIS universities and companies; gathering the agri-food degree competences profile from the partner universities; apply the tool designed to analyse and compare the programs’ competences; design assessment tools and a model of recognition certificate awarded by TRANSVERSALIS.
The comparability of the transborder competences and their recognition, will enhance the mobility of the students and their internships in companies at the two sides of the border. Consequently, the recognition will also allow the students to show the competences achieved in their CV and introduce themselves on the agri-food labour market. Keywords:
