Abstract:
As COVID-19 crisis has begun in Saudi Arabia, IAU (Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University) found itself facing a new challenge where the attendance in the campus has been postponed according to the ministry of education decision, while the educational process must be continued, this leaded the university to many challenges and innovative solutions using distance teaching, the purpose of this practical action study was to determine the effectiveness of the tools and procedures taken during the pandemic, and to come up with an action plan to deal with future crisis. Thirty three IAU faculty members have answered the questionnaire, generally, a very large majority of 91% faculty members think that the crisis management strategy that was used in IAU helped in avoiding the crisis effect and minimizing it, 86% faculty members also found that having an eLearning coordinator in their colleges was useful, and 71% of them have contacted with him, they also benefited from the support that was provided from the deanship through many channels, and preferred support through WhatsApp and Zoom, and they preferred using Blackboard to create their tests and Zoom to make their virtual sessions.
