Abstract:
In the last few years, there has been an increasing interest in the development of teamwork skills in the area of Higher Education. However, several problems may arise in every single team due to several factors such as incorrect team dynamics, lack of organization and communication, or personal conflicts among team members. In the literature, different approaches can be found oriented to compose teams that are expected to obtain good performance. In this paper, we present an experience of comparing two different approaches for team formation: one is focused on analyzing the behaviours of team members when working with others, while the other is focused on analyzing the personality treats of individuals. Both approaches are based on two of the most widely used models from the psychology area: Belbin and Myers-Briggs. We show the results of this experience that was carried out in several courses of the Polytechnical University of Valencia.
