Abstract:
As teachers of mathematics one of the challenges that we have is how we can increase students’ interest and engagement in classroom. The new curriculum of the baccalaureate is presented as the set of competences that students have to acquire when they finish this period.

In this sense, the competences can be divided in: general learning competences and fundamental competences. The general learning competences are such as, to live in a responsible way, to know how to communicate, etc. and they are learnt in all the subjects of the baccalaureate. Among the fundamental competences, we can find the digital competence. This paper is focused on this competence, not only because this is a competence to make more attractive the learning of mathematics, but also because it favours the development of some skills such as the analytical ability or the critical thinking ability.

In this work how the digital competence can be inserted in the subject Mathematics II of the baccalaureate is studied. We have analyzed the assessment criteria of the subject, looking especially at the ones related to the digital competence. We have identified the units which assessment criteria are connected to this competence and we have set out different activities using mathematical software for the acquisition of these competences.
