Abstract:
In many studies, the urgency of the problem of lack of competence of graduates in the field of scientific research is substantiated. It defines the purpose of improving educational methods in order to reduce the gap between skills of specialists, masters and bachelors and the requirements of high-tech business and awarding degrees. For this aim, it is necessary to solve several problems: to make diagnostics of students' preferences in learning styles; to justify possible areas of graduates' activity; to define project or research type of final qualifying work to select the place of activity in the cycle "science - engineering - production - commercialization"; to study of differences in the content of final qualifying works according to their type; to study researcher competencies in methodology and methods of scientific research. To solve these problems we have developed a set of educational methods, namely: individual work plan for specifying links of a curriculum with chosen area of activity; mastering skills of formulating the theme and identification of structural elements of the content of the scientific works, depending on their types; the development of skills of writing abstracts, reports, research papers, and final qualifying works; studying the features of the implementation and defense of the qualifying works in terms of its assessment; student-oriented interactive learning, suggesting the formation of thematically related subgroups of the students; provision of special teaching manuals with the possibilities of self-study and inter-group communication. We have revealed a number of positive results of application of the methods: earlier detection of individual preferences in selection of topics and types of research; increased level of application of the general methods of research in evaluation of skills to develop hypothesis, concepts and structural logic of the research; expanded set of research tools in areas of development and complement the concepts of classification and methods of constructing qualitative and quantitative models, algorithms of implementation of research methods. Keywords:
Analysis of areas of activity, diagnostics of learning style, selection of types and differences of a final qualifying work, student-oriented counseling.
