Abstract:
The importance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in education has long been recognized not only in Nigeria but elsewhere in the world today. Its utilization has improved the quality of students' learning and research in Universities. As such, public Universities in South-South geopolitical zone in particular and Nigeria are striving to ensure that their teaching and learning situation is Information and Communications Technology (ICT) compliant. This survey designed study seeks to assess students' utilization of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for quality education in South-South Nigerian public universities. One (1) research question and three (3) hypotheses will be isolated to guide this investigation.Stratified random sampling technique will be adopted to draw a sample size of four (4) public universities located in South-South Nigeria, from which four (400) hundred students out of the students' population in those Universities will be used as subjects. Data collection will be carried out using "University Students' Utilization of ICT for Quality Education Questionnaire (USUIQEQ)". Data collected will be subjected to statistical analysis using Descriptive Statistics comprising Mean Rating, Population t-test and Independent t-test statistical techniques.
