Abstract:
In the new millennium technological innovations provide a wide variety of opportunities to second language learners. One of these facilities is the use of translation devices through not only PCs but also through a variety of mobile devices such as mobile phones or tablets. Having access to web enables the learners to reach the online translation applications not only quickly but also free of charge. The present paper seeks to explore the extent to which second language learners studying at Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus are aware of on-line translation facilities and whether or not they use it. An in-house questionnaire consisting of 3 parts and 51 questions has been administrated to 550 students who are learning English as the second language in order to study in an English medium university
