Abstract:
Rapid scientific-technological progress made medical education to face numerous choices, new challenges and opportunities. Thousand types of mannekens, models, simulators, digital systems and programs intensively used in medical education nowadays on one hand, provide students with the opportunity to learn with much more motivation and easily on the grounds of being familiar with modern technologies and electronic gadgets from an early age and, on the other hand, get used to practicing and elaborating excellent clinical skills through numerous trainings in the simulative environment similar to the clinical setting to a maximum extent. Moreover, one of the core achievements of teaching/learning through the mentioned approach is the protection of patient safety.

Despite the above mentioned, like all innovations, presented achievement has its weak sides and it is the potential of loss of empathy between doctor and patient, the quality that is gained by a student only as a result of direct communication with a patient. In Georgia, people often say: “Doctor cured me by the word”, what means that verbal communication and body language (eye contact, touch, movement, etc.) are of no less importance than professionalism and clinical skills. Achievement of these golden standards of learning outcomes is one of the most difficult tasks while elaborating and implementing educational programs in medicine.
