Abstract:
This study covers a comprehensive review of literature on Artificial Intelligence (AI) application in higher education and discusses its benefits and challenges. AI helps educators manage resources with growing class sizes and diverse student groups. AI-empowered assessment systems improve traditional methods, reduce costs, and offer personalized feedback. They adapt to various subject domains, manage large data volumes efficiently, and generate automated reports for decision-making. The benefits of AI systems can be overemphasized without considering potential drawbacks that can lead to unrealistic expectations of AI systems. AI is revolutionizing educational evaluation by efficiently assessing assignments, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a dynamic learning environment, enabling personalized interventions and IoT-supported simulations. AI offers prospective lesson preparation, personalised learning assistance, fast assessment and evaluation, and student questions answered. AI systems can grade examinations quickly and correctly, giving students immediate feedback this saves instructors time and assures fairness and consistency in assessment. AI integration in education improves efficiency, fairness, and personalized learning, but requires careful consideration of technology, ethics, and pedagogy. The integration of AI and automated evaluation techniques in HE presents both benefits and challenges, including efficiency, standardization, and ethical issues. Technical complexity, concerns about data privacy and bias, as well as resistance from educators and stakeholders, pose significant challenges to widespread adoption. Educational institutions should address challenges proactively and leverage AI-enhanced methods to harness the transformative potential of automated evaluation techniques based on improved teaching and learning experiences. The potential of AI technologies in education includes chatbots and algorithms that simulate human interactions. However, it's crucial to consider its limitations, such as potential biases and misinformation. Additionally, ethical concerns arise, such as unethical use and potential unemployment. The use of AI in HE signifies a significant progression in the pursuit of enhanced and tailored learning encounters. AI has the potential to mitigate the resource-intensive challenges encountered by educators through automating exams, grading, and feedback. This enables educators to focus their efforts on the more complex aspects of education. Furthermore, the ability of AI to provide customised learning experiences guarantees that students are provided with the personalised assistance necessary for achieving academic excellence. The integration of AI in HE institutions can foster a more inclusive, dynamic, and empowering learning environment, paving the way for a new age of learning and enhanced educational experiences. By deploying automated evaluation techniques and AI-enhanced methods, educational institutions can significantly enhance efficiency and save valuable time for educators and students.
