Abstract:
Global Virtual Teams (GVT) is becoming current respond to new steady demand for globalizing. While organizations world-wide have been moving more and more to team based structures and networking forms Virtual Teams (VT) may be distinguished as a generally applicable tool. This movement suggests a demand for a new type of team structure that can be directed toward Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) technology because of its increasingly potential for team forming. The paper conceptualizes VT in an organizational learning environment. VT potentially is able to form global networks among professions beyond socio-political, organizational and cultural restrictions. To do this successfully it must overcome on jurisdictional issues which influence seriously on its forming and working globally and locally. The paper indicates the main proposed opportunities and threats when applying VT as a special way to learning. Relied on this, the paper derives some implications for organizations which intend to accelerate their speed toward globalizing.
