Abstract:
This research focuses on the culture of peace in the area of education where different entities play a key role to its promotion: parents, teachers, politicians, social workers, and non-governmental organizations. Similarly, we cover in detail the importance of education at any level as an element that promotes the culture of peace as an important vehicle used in its construction, and considering the following:
1. The promotion of a pacific way to solve conflicts, respect and mutual understanding.
2. The possibility that any person at any level develop skills for dialog, negotiation, consensus building, and pacific solving of controversies.

That is why the culture of peace has to be understood as the action children and adults take in order to reject violent events collectively; and even more, that they understand, respect and demand fundamental values such as freedom, justice, democracy, human rights, tolerance, equality, and solidarity working together with empathy.

Venezuela needs to be pacified, and the best way to do it is beginning with schools and educational centers, where young children and teachers are prepared in the area of education for peace and conflict solving as the main strategy to overcome this regrettable situation.
The main aim of this research is to suggest a group of pedagogical activities directed towards an education for peace and conflict solving in public schools at secondary level.

The design of this research is non-experimental and its type is descriptive. The population is made up of all the teachers that work at secondary level at Municipio Sucre. The sample consisted of a total of 19 teachers in public education working part-time or full-time at secondary level. The instrument selected for the collection of data was the questionnaire, not only because it permits the compilation of precise data that come directly from our unit of analysis, but also for its specific advantages such as flexibility and cost and time saving. We conducted a qualitative analysis using the results obtained from the questionnaire.

The results indicate that 12 activities and strategies are the most practical, viable and efficient to be used in the educational process in order to build a culture of peace and conflict solving. These activities are: educate by example, talk about violence, dialog and communication, incorporate values in every activity, analyze films (film forum), workshop for parents, role plays, cooperative games, theater, leisure activities, and practice negotiation, mediation, conciliation and arbitration as alternative strategies to conflict solving and the preventive management of violence.

Finally, and in general terms, after analyzing the results of this research, we can conclude that there were some important effects on the sample that participated in the study. These effects are related to the knowledge of the participants, the acquisition of strategies and tools necessary to reduce school violence. Regarding this, the participants expressed that the frequency of violent events in class was reduced but didn’t completely disappear; and all this thanks to the implementation of the strategies learned.
