Abstract:
Teaching and learning as much of Programming as Mathematics are non resolute tasks in the scope of the Education. In the case of the programming, the first selected language, the first paradigm selected, as well as the cognitive activities and abilities of the domain, they are some of the immersed factors in this educative activity. On the other hand, the fear, the lack of motivation and the difficulty to teach and to learn mathematics, have promoted a rejection towards this science.
In this paper we describe a Model based on Intelligent Virtual Environment (IVE) [1] to assist Learning of Groups in Shared Spaces of Work. With the model it is tried to advance in the research, development and innovation in Computer science on education, especially, on a research line of knowledge like “Intelligent Virtual Environments”, in this case, IVEs based on the Collaboration and the Knowledge.
The IVE will incorporate characteristics of an intelligent tutoring system [2] to support, to monitor, to evaluate and to assist the interaction of the group members during its learning process. In order to attend group in its process of learning, the pedagogical model will use the Scaffolding like pedagogical metaphor, as well as a model of instructional design based on the collaboration and/or the game. In the case of the expert model, a knowledge based will be used about the errors common in the learning of each one of the selected knowledge domains. The student module uses a mechanism of the group based on the diagnosis of the learning in collaboration, in particular a perturbation model.
The domains of learning on which we tried to apply the model, include disciplines as the Mathematics and the Computer Sciences, curricular areas on the Mathematics school. In this paper we will approach the domain of Algebra [3] and the Programming [4].
