Abstract:
The use of ICT in teaching is one of the most accepted resources among the teaching community nowadays. Competence Standards in Information and Comunication Technology Project for teachers of UNESCO proposes the need of adapting new technologies within the sphere of teaching, since current situation is teachers having huge ignorance of using the Information and Comunication Technologies (ICT) tools, in spite of the common acceptance of them as a part of the educational process.

According to the three focus points considered in the UNESCO project, to achieve teachers proper training in dealing with the integration of ICT in teaching-learning processes, the proposal is to adapt the subject “Complements for disciplinary education in Natural Sciences specialization” to achieve the following three levels: literacy, deepening, and knowledge generation using ICT. All this has been carried out by the study of historical evolution of Natural Science and its adaptation to the social and technological evolution as a transverse resource. First level was achieved from the analysis of students previous smatterings and basic theorical explanations, in addition to a discussion about the use of ICT in teaching. Afterwards, students used ICT through custom-made WebQuests and Wikis, so deepening level is achieved. Thirdly students were urged to make their own WebQuests and Wikis as well as their own virtual classroom, all of that from free topics chosen by them. This is the way in which the next level is achieved, where pupil is able to make his own creations, generating knowledge from the use of ICT.
