Abstract:
In a construction company, increasing the transparency of economic as well as controlling processes is a set of necessary steps that lead to effective development. For this reason, it is important to ensure a sufficient number of quality professionals in the labor market in a satisfactory structure and the necessary specialization in the field of controlling processes. As part of the extended teaching of economic subjects at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, it is necessary that the content of subjects, which are focused on the issue of controlling, be created with regard to the needs of companies.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was also necessary to replace traditional full-time education with a distance form of education within the teaching of economic subjects at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

The aim of the paper is to point out our pedagogical experience with teaching the subject, controlling at the present time, when the whole teaching is realized in the form of distance teaching in the online environment.

The choice of teaching method and tools used should ensure that future graduates of the Slovak University of Technology understand not only the theoretical definition, meaning and place of controlling in the company but also its basic functions and tasks, position and concept of controlling in relation to business process performance evaluation and practical implementation.
