Abstract:
It is widely known that the involvement of students in scientific and research activities in the university environment can have a positive impact on their personal development, motivation and professional growth. For this reason, it is very important to ensure natural connections between the solution of academic research projects and the solution of final bachelor's and diploma theses. The presented article offers an example of education and involvement of students in the solution of projects. The article essentially presents the realization of a scientific project solved under the auspices of a scientific grant agency. The publication consists of three main parts. The first part is focused on the description of the solved project under the title "Increasing the accuracy of 3D documentation of trasological traces for the purposes of criminalistic-technical and forensic activity", from the point of view of its essence, scientific goals, international scientific cooperation and a brief description of the project. The second part is aimed at involving students in solving this project, through domestic university grant projects, student participation in criminology seminars and professional lectures, etc., which ultimately enriches students and contributes to the quality of their final theses. In the second part, the authors also focused on finding feedback from students, which indicate that if students actively approach the implementation of research activities and feel a sense of belonging to the given project, they evaluate this experience positively and consider it beneficial to a significant extent. The third part of the article is focused on the possibilities of implementing the results of projects and students' works directly into the educational process. As a result, the presented approach to education can be inspiring for institutions teaching similar subjects or can serve as a guide on how to improve and make teaching more efficient in other areas of education as well. The results presented at the end of the article point to the importance of supporting students' research activities in the university environment.
