Abstract:
Bullying, one of the socio-pathological phenomena, is a very dangerous and undesirable behavior of an individual or a group of people towards a weaker individual. The issue of bullying in schools is a relatively intensive topic, whereby schools and various school facilities ensure a regular supply of information and knowledge to teachers and students. Although teachers are trying to combat bullying in schools, they are unable to develop a fully effective strategy to tackle it. Cases where the teacher's unprofessional approach can only make the whole situation worse are not excluded. It is therefore necessary to develop a bullying prevention program in order to effectively manage bullying at primary or secondary schools. For the purposes of processing this article and finding out the current state of bullying at the selected primary school, 319 respondents were addressed - students of a primary school based in the city. The focus of the study was to find out e.g. level of knowledge about this socio-pathological phenomenon, whether the addressed students were directly in contact with bullying as witnesses or as direct participants. Furthermore, it was found out what were the most common manifestations, where and when they encountered bullying the most, and so on. Based on the results of the assessment of the perception of bullying among a selected sample of students, educational and training activities of a preventive nature and measures to improve the current situation were subsequently proposed in the result part of the article. The implementation of certain specific activities in the educational process of pupils in schools is intended to support a healthy and safe school environment, the functioning and operation of the selected primary school and thus to help prevent and combat socio-pathological phenomena. In addition, it strengthens the educational performance and personality level of the student. The outputs of the article can also be an inspiration for other schools or educational institutions. Keywords:
