Abstract:
In the present study, a bibliographic review of the current state of research on collaborative learning mediated by ICT Information and Communication Technologies is carried out. Likewise, the progress and pending tasks of the Educational System of the Dominican Republic in this matter are verified. We start from a systematic review (SR) of the base of studies from different countries of the world, housed in the Scopus database, Google Scholar and documents from the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) such as institutional reports, 10-year plan, Educando educational portal, etc. The search range was from the last 10 years (2010-2020). The deductive analysis technique was used in order to understand the results and compare the current situation in the Dominican Republic with respect to collaborative methodologies with ICT. To carry out the search rigorously, four research questions were established (Q1: What conceptions do teachers and students have about collaborative learning mediated by ICT or CSCL? Q2: How are collaborative tools mediated by ICT being applied in the system Q3 How is the CSCL evaluated? Q4: How is the CSCL in education being addressed today?). In addition, search parameters such as key words and phrases used to locate potentially relevant documents were established. The key words were: "collaborative learning" OR "CSCL" AND "nowadays" OR "state of the art" "Method" AND "conception" AND "tool" AND "evaluation." 250 bibliographic records related to the topic were found. After a detailed selection and quality evaluation, 38 elements were selected that gave answers to the questions posed previously. The results of the analyzed studies show that these practices exert positive effects on student learning, but suggest that special attention should be paid to the social interactions produced in virtual spaces, as well as their form of evaluation. As for the Dominican Republic, it is observed that the use of this teaching model is infrequent in the classroom due to the lack of teacher training in this area. Finally, it concludes by proposing some elements to implement and regulate learning in virtual collaborative environments. Keywords:
