Abstract:
In this paper we define the process of IT strategy development for today’s competitive university. This process takes as input the academic mission and vision, the IT Core Values, and IT Strategic Functions; Alignment, Optimization, and Sustainability. Moreover, the process is driven by the Information Gathering which also capture any specific requirements. The IT Strategy provides for three major deliverables; the IT General Guiding Principles, the IT Portfolio of Strategic Solutions. And best practice IT Service Management ITSM, based on ITIL. However, we consider the ITSM is a standard best practice, we just provided a general reference to this practice. The IT Strategy is a lifecycle process, it should always align and respond to the strategic academic needs and challenges, therefore, it should get updated as needed.
