Abstract:
Strengthening the management of an organization, especially the administration of schools involving teachers as educators and mentors are important to achieve academic excellence at tertiary level especially in gaining soft skills. This study seeks to carry out a survey to measure the performance of advisors who are involved in administering the management of co-curriculum in secondary schools. These respondents are teachers from the federal territory who are serving in government aided secondary schools. Management of co-curriculum is stipulated in policies regulated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) are adopted currently in schools. These policies are based on the “MOE Co-Curriculum Management Guideline” are central to the construction of the instrument. From the results of the survey, an inventory will be developed to measure the performance and quality level of the co-curriculum management in secondary schools. It is hope that the inventory will help in the monitoring and the running of co-curriculum and thus inform stakeholders such as ministry level, state levels and local education council for the purpose of upgrading its service to benefit pupils, teachers and school administrators. It is hoped that inventory will help to assess the quality and performance of co-curriculum management by teachers who are co-curriculum advisors may help school administrators and the stakeholders to produce well rounded students by emphasising soft skills, but also to develop and produce quality teachers in secondary education.
