Abstract:
Post-editing machine translation research is interdisciplinary, combining themes, concepts, issues, methods and data from different fields. This paper deals with the problem of post-editing machine translation of biomedical texts in translation training. The development of machine translation is full of ups and downs, but the current state of technology leaves its usefulness undisputed. Post-editing machine translation is a new, in-demand service on today's translation market. The demand for machine translation post-editors in the translation industry is growing, but new format training programmes are insufficient at the moment. The aim of the paper is to present state of art of such concepts as post-editing, neural machine translation, problems of biomedical texts and disclose major difficulties of translators training in post-editing. The authors devote considerable attention to the analysis of post-editing scope, to the problem of identifying and correcting different error categories in neural machine translated texts (NMT) and their post-edited versions. The materials and results of the study can be useful for translator training programs in higher education institutes.
