Abstract:
From the literature review, Omura, Quel & Oliveira (2016) study characteristics of hairdressers and beauty institutes, such as quality assurance, efficiency, compromise, establishment, independence and self-confidence. However, in relation to the business plan, Peixoto & Freitas (2017) agree that managing is different from being professional. Indeed, entrepreneurs need higher education knowledge and technical knowledge to survive in a very competitive market.

Thus, this paper presents an innovative project, from an interventionist perspective within the university, to research about the economic and financial analysis of hairdressers and beauty institutes, allowing master students to apply, in real in the context of work, the theoretical knowledge. Indeed, this paper was supported in a strong partnership between two Higher Education Institutions: Guarda Polytechnic Institute in Portugal (IPG, 2021) and Presbyterian Mackenzie University in Brazil (PMU, 2021).

The methodology of the research is based on theoretical framework focus on the economic and financial analysis that will help stakeholders of hairdressers and beauty institutes to find solutions that will guarantee their sustainability. The empirical framework collects and reviews accessible information about hairdressers and beauty institutes in Portugal. The data has been collected from SABI-data base in order to prepare students to competitive job market.

The main results show that the power to drive business value with the data analysis (Subramaniam, 2021), especially, about an economic sector very relevant to our mental well-being. The master students will get competences, capabilities and knowledge from general accounting aspects to particular management aspects (IFAC, 2019). Furthermore, the paper develops the focus on new trends of education and globalization, because it includes an international experience of one research project that goes beyond the scope of the country or the degree and, undeniably, transfers to the society knowledge.
