Abstract:
Communication is essential for effective functioning in every part of an organization. Different departments in an organization receive direction to achieve corporate goals and objectives and what links the departments together is effective communication which will facilitate organizational success. Communication is needed to increase efficiency, satisfy customers’ needs, improve quality, and create innovative products. Bearing in mind the various types of workplace communication taking place in an organization, it is undoubted that students and undergraduates alike may find communicating in the organization a challenging task. Therefore, this study is carried out in order to investigate the challenges faced by Engineering Technology students in a university in Malaysia in learning workplace communication. A set of questionnaire is distributed to three hundred and fifty respondents in order to find out the barriers they face in learning about workplace communication.
