Abstract:
Evaluation is an integral process in the development and improvement of education. Vocational development and in-service training play a major role in helping teachers acquire Performance Based Assessment Competencies. This kind of evaluation aims at providing teachers with several techniques enabling them to measure students’ cognitive and mental abilities, as well as the practical skills acquired in genuine situations. This evaluation is distinct from tests measuring memorization, rote learning and information recalling

Here are the most common techniques teachers can use to evaluate student performance:
1- Observation
2- Homework
3- Concept maps
4- Self-evaluation
5- Peer evaluation
6- Student portfolio

This study aimed to answer the following question:
What performance-based evaluation competencies are teachers and faculty members supposed to acquire to apply Performance based Assessment with students?

Some other questions derived from the main question:
- What is the suggested training program that might help in-service teachers and faculty members to acquire performance-based evaluation competencies?

To answer the questions, the researcher reviewed the literature relevant to the topic. She also designed performance-based evaluation competency lists that teachers should acquire to measure cognitive, psychomotor and effective performance-based evaluation competencies.

Research Findings:
The researcher designed performance-based evaluation competency lists that are supposed to enable teachers to measure cognitive, psychomotor and effective performance-based evaluation competencies.

Suggestions for Further Research:
The researcher suggested implementing training programs that might help in-service teachers and faculty members acquire performance-based evaluation competencies, and measure how efficient such a program is on the acquisition of cognitive and psychomotor competencies on the performance-based evaluations of teachers and faculty members.
