Abstract:
This paper presents a prototype of an application designed to enhance user productivity by using gamification. Gamification adjusts its strategy to the natural inspirations and motivations of the users, increased with the mechanics and prizes that influence them to come in and bring about cooperation in a company.

The application applies an assortment of gamification examples and standards (xp compensation, leveling up, achievements, every day/week by week/month to month/yearly execution appraisals) both to the individual relegated an assignment and to the individual giving the errand (director, chief, team-leader, supervisor etc.). A standard task and work management app is turned into a gamified software product meant to increase the productivity of whoever is going to use it.

The application is envisioned to be integrated in an enterprise environment, where the tasks of each employee must be managed, tracked and distributed among workers. Uneven distribution of tasks, boring work routine, unfulfilling work progress and lack of palpable progress are meant to be alleviated using the app.

The domain is an IT-focused company with pre/post production incidents, tickets, patches, testing issues, development objectives and numerous other programming related endeavors specific to this field of activity, given an enterprise ecosystem. These tasks will be used as an example throughout the paper and will serve as the general foundation of the application’s proposed functionality and implementation.

The project is implemented as a lightweight web-app implemented in Java on the back-end server side with a MySQL database and Bootstrap/HTML5 and JavaScript on the client side.
