Abstract:
In recent years (following the financial crisis in 2008), employers signalised that universities should prepare their graduatesfor the 21 century’s challenges using various knowledge sharing methods, and developing not only learning skills and digital literacy skills, but also career and real life skills such as accountability, sense of responsibility, flexibility and adaptability, teamwork and adequate skills for cross-cultural interaction. Organizational development and success essentially rely on its human resources; more precisely rely on their knowledge, skills, aptitudes, competences and behaviours as part of the intellectual capital of the organization. The paper presents the results of an experimental internship project that involved students in economic and business administration domain (along with academics and employers) in an attempt to evaluate the best suited learning experiences that could be used for developing necessary skills for improving future graduates employability. Different types of companies were selected and various learning methods were applied in order to evaluatebest suited ways of knowledge transfer and identify the types of competences acquired by students. The results of this study can be used both by universities and by educational policy makers for curricula improvement, and also by employers in improving the HR hiring process at entry level.
