Abstract:
Forming of multidisciplinary classes and student projects is a new trend in modern higher education (HE). Incorporating of such lessons into curricula constitutes a serious challenge for HE. This challenge is related to the need of covering several different areas in single subject. Moreover, there is a need of providing sufficient equipment and tools. Bioengineering is a typical example of a course, which incorporates different areas including ICT, electrical engineering and medical science.

The paper presents a new laboratory for Bioengineering course classes dedicated to computer aided medical diagnosis. Tasks and procedures students need to follow as well as dedicated equipment and tools were presented. Curricula of both Engineering and Master's IT and Bioengineering programs include practical classes. Among those classes there are some, where students work in groups and together prepare projects and solve complex problems. One of such classes is dedicated to students of master Bioengineering course, where they have the opportunity to attend medical Computer Aided Diagnostics classes. Those classes are held in research Laboratory of Motion Analysis and Interface Ergonomics. Projects conducted in this laboratory have the form of research activities carried out under the supervision of experienced teacher. Projects and tasks performed by students are related to electroencephalograph (EEG) and eye-tracker data measurement and processing.

Laboratory of Motion Analysis and Interface Ergonomics is a modern laboratory dedicated to research of Institute of Computer Science of Lublin University of Technology. The scope of the laboratory work involves the use of method of movements record in three dimensions (3D), study of application user interfaces availability and adapting these interfaces to the needs of people with disabilities as well as studies using computer-brain interface in medical diagnostics, analysis of EEG systems applied in computer games and cognitive psychological research.

The laboratory is equipped in a set of devices and software. In the area of EEG and eye-tracker there are:
- Multichannel system for electrophysiological studies of EEG and ERP consists of the 21-channel EEG head with accessories.
- PC computer and dedicated software for signal filtering, processing and analysis.
- Stationary eyetracker with software dedicated to analyze of the eyeball movements.
- Mobile eyetracker in the form of glasses with a sampling frequency of 30 Hz (both eyes).

In this paper the multidisciplinary laboratory as also as results of chosen students activities were presented.
