Abstract:
This work aims to show the actions that are being carried out in the administrative chemical engineering degree to promote, strengthen and measure the skills of the students of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de México. The competencies that students must develop are divided between disciplinary and transversal competencies that are defined in the TEC 21 model. The disciplinary competencies are those that are directly related to the disciplinary area, while the transversal competencies are grouped in ethics, citizenship, commitment to the environment, entrepreneurial capacity, leadership, self-confidence, English language, global perspective, oral and written communication. The synergy between these two types of competencies allows students to develop all the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to face a globalized and continuously changing world, placing a strong emphasis on the social and environmental impact of their decisions. The model used establishes the diagnosis and monitoring of the competencies established in the institutional regulations, through the programming of activities in three-thirds of the career. The first third is dedicated to the knowledge and basic development of competencies, while in the second and third they are reinforced and evaluated. At the end, some interesting results are presented.
