Abstract:
Recently, the Engineering Faculty of the UNAM has been involved in the process of updating the plans and curricula of their careers, being, therefore, extremely timely and pertinent to update materials and educational strategies with innovative and effective contributions to the new generations of students, which updates the teaching practice and strengthen and reinforce student learning processes.

New plans of the electrical electronic engineering, telecommunications and computing degrees, cover the subject in Systems and Signals (SyS), each one with its specific approach, incorporating laboratory practice in this update.

Systems and Signals is the theoretical core for the degree courses before mentioned, it emanate essential concepts that govern in each of the disciplines, hence its importance and significance.

This topics addressed in a traditional way, tend to be dense, tedious and laborious for the pupil, since they include a strong dose of concepts of mathematical analysis, ambient that prevails during a conventional format which does not favor that the student attend effectively the continuity in topics and therefore lose their interest in the subject.

So that to promote the new approach to the subjects of SyS, it has been designed and developed a compendium of digital educational materials, corresponding to the three engineering degrees, that support a dynamic learning and the strengthening of capacities and skills in students.

This Compendium is based on interactive learning units ILU, (set of contents, resources and educational multimedia materials), which links strategically theory, simulation and practice across a wide range of resources and learning activities with interactive and dynamic materials, so that the student can conduct experiments and effectively exercise theory through simulations, or in a laboratory practices in any place and at any time, allowing them to reach an effective and quality learning, not only of the subject itself, but in the skills and abilities acquired through the management of software, hardware, and use of ICT.

The teaching of the new courses will enter into force until February 2017, however, the established goals, materials, their implementation and other aspects have been assessed through pilot groups.

This document presents the general architecture of the system, the process of development of the new scheme, the description of materials developed, the use of digital repositories for distribution, experience and skills which students have acquired with their use, as well as other academic aspects involved in the process of updating the course of Systems and Signals.
