Abstract:
UAQ’s Laboratory for Technology and Innovation Administration, recently conducted a qualitative survey study to find out the impact that Smart Cubo’s Pedagogical Robotics program has on elementary, junior high and high school students in Mexico.

Using cloud computing tools UAQ’s Laboratory for Technology and Innovation Administration conducted in previous months a survey, to ask students and their teachers about their appreciation of the Impact on their academic life’s and XXI century abilities after having implemented at their schools Smart Cubo’s Pedagogical Robotics program. A randomly selected sample of 20% of schools that had implemented and are currently using Smart Cubo’s Robotics program, were invited to participate in the survey. We received a little more than 520 surveys. From these we have almost 200 elementary students’ replys, a few more than 200 junior high students’ replys, about 80 high school students replys and little more than 30 Teacher replys.

Smart Cubo’s Robotic program uses robotics as a tool to teach children from kinder garden through young persons at first years of university apply mathematics and physics concept and knowledge. The method that is used also develop XXI Century abilities on students of all ages. Among these abilities, the program works with teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, knowledge transfer to daily life, problem solving and working under time and resources pressure. This work report on the results of the survey. Among some of the more interesting finding we can mention the following. a) 95% of elementary students, 89% of high school students and 92% of teachers, completely agree or agree that the program help them develop teamwork abilities. b) 94% of elementary students, 78% of high school students and 96% of teachers, completely agree or agree that the program help them improve their academic level. c) 97% of elementary students, 83% of junior high students, 98% of high school students and 100% of teachers, completely agree or agree that the program help them learn new teamwork abilities. d) 99% of elementary students, 78% of junior high students, 97% of high school students and 100% of teachers, completely agree or agree that after working with the program their creativity improve a lot. e) 99% of elementary students, 90% of high school students and 96% of teachers, completely agree or agree that after working with the program their self-trust improve. f) 95% of elementary students, 69% of junior high students, 94% of high school students and 96% of teachers, completely agree or agree that after working with the program they have a better understanding of how to use math, science and technology to solve real life problems. g) 95% of elementary students, 68% of junior high students, 89% of high school students and 97% of teachers, completely agree or agree that after working with the program they became a more participative person in their everyday activities. For all these findings we have teacher’s details by school level. One very interesting finding in the last issue is that even though in general junior high students are more apathetic or less interested, may be due to teenager changes in their life, ALL 100% of junior high school teachers “completely agree” that their junior high students became a more participative person in their everyday activities.
