Abstract:
The idea to provide every student with an individual educational trajectory was guaranteed by the first variant constitution in the Russian Federation. This issue was confirmed in further amendments of constitution.

Taking after Professor A. Hutorsky, an individual educational trajectory is defined as a unique implementation of personal resources in educational process. Thus, an individual educational trajectory is identified as a peculiar style of students’ learning activity and it may vary by intrinsic motivation, study skills, interaction between a student and a teacher.

Three main types of educational trajectory were elaborated, such as an adaptive type, developmental teaching type and a creative type. Working out an individual educational trajectory in educational process the authors take into account the fact that students acquire knowledge at three levels: information perception and retention close to authentic material; students’ competency in situations similar to training, unconscious students’ competency to tackle creative tasks.

According to the third level of students’ competency an authorial method of extracurricular students’ activity has been developed. The method of extracurricular students’ activity is regarded as a complex system of student-oriented synergetic methodology comprising the following: the focus of educational program is on students’ competency to apply social experience in extracurricular creative activities and take part in diverse extracurricular creative projects; educational content testing; alternative hosting of extracurricular creative events; assessment of results.

To catalyze students’ proficiency in foreign languages and to put this method into practice an elective course “Life lessons” has been launched, a set of supplementary materials on humanitarian subjects has been set up; extracurricular creative projects have been carried out.

In conclusion, the authors point out that certain surveys proved the method of extracurricular activity to be effective, the results show a clear dynamics of learning the subject “Foreign language”, learning motivation has been increased.
