Abstract:
This paper is the result of the author’s investigation and work on e-readiness which means to measure the preparedness of enterprise to participate in the digital divide. Literature on the notion of e-readiness has shown a range of assessment tools that have developed to measure the country or an economy’s level of penetration of ICT. The different studies predominantly have been focused on global tools for measuring the ‘digital divide’ between the rich and poor countries. Diverted from the general perspective of e-readiness, a second wave of e-readiness studies has been introduced to specific ICT-related areas i.e. e-banking, e-hiring, e-procurement etc. This paper has focused on the e-readiness of education institution to facilitate the stakeholders with ICT in the education perspective.

The paper’s initial objective is to identify the processes of distance education which need the support of ICT along with stakeholders involved in these processes. Moreover, research will also identify the challenges and problems which can be faced in e-education or distance education by its stakeholders. The main objective of the research is to develop an e-readiness model for the educational institutions perspective.
